About Us
Our Why
In Arizona schools, the numbers tell a story no one wants to hear. 1 school psychologist for every 1,593 students. 1 social worker for every 3,382. 1 counselor for every 905. Behind each of these numbers is a student who couldn’t get the help they needed.
For years, the Arizona school system has endured a crisis of underfunded mental healthcare. Recent cuts to school funding have made it worse. Mental health resources that students depend on are disappearing at the district level, leaving young people with fewer places to turn and fewer people to talk to.
L.I.S.T.E.N. exists to change that.
We are an Arizona student-driven initiative built to raise awareness, share resources, and amplify the voices that are too often unheard. Our name is our mission:
Learn · Initiate · Support · Teach · Empathize · Normalize
The Record Store
Our online record store is a growing collection of real interviews with Arizona students, educators, and mental health professionals — honest, unfiltered tracks about what it's actually like to navigate mental health in schools here.
Each interview is a track, a voice that represents the thousands of Arizona students who share that experience but have never had a platform to say so.
Choose a story and share it. The conversation only starts if people start to L.I.S.T.E.N.
